Icons that survive printers

Simple line icons print better than photos. If you customize, keep names short. “Toys” beats “please put all toys in the correct bins.”

When do I switch to a grid?
When they start reading the fridge magnets for fun — often 5 or 6 — or when they ask for “a real chart.”
