Star chart
Star charts work because they are visible and fast. They stop working when stars are theoretical (you forgot the sheet) or infinite (no cash-out).
Ten to twenty stars for a small privilege is enough economy. If you need a spreadsheet, you have outgrown stars — switch to points.
How to print one that lasts
Our star-board layout leaves a row of empty stars to color or sticker. Put the prize in writing at the bottom so grandparents do not invent a new prize.

- Prefer not to. Pause a privilege instead. Star theft makes the chart a courtroom.
