Chore chart for 10 year olds

Double digits do not magically create a tidy human. They do create stronger opinions about babyish charts. Use navy, slate, or terracotta. Drop the cartoon animals unless they ask to keep them.

Ten can run a simple breakfast, a bathroom sink, and laundry put-away. Teach one new machine this year (washer or dishwasher) properly.

What a 10-year-old can do

Use this as a menu. Your house, your safety rules.

  • Start laundry with a card on the wall
  • Cook eggs or pasta with supervision
  • Bathroom sink and floor sweep
  • Grocery carry-in
  • Calendar check for tomorrow

Skip these for now

Not because kids are incapable of growth — because the risk or the teaching cost is too high for a first chart.

  • Solo home with younger kids all afternoon as a listed chore
  • Power equipment

How to run the week

Put “plan tomorrow” on Sunday. Ten still needs the prompt.

If allowance starts here, write what happens on a half-done week before the first half-done week.

Reward idea: Hybrid allowance plus a privilege.

Layout: Points table. See the 10-year-old weekly chart.
