Living room
Living room chore chart
Shared rooms die from “someone will get it.” Assign a ten-minute tidy to a person or rotate nightly. Timer on, music optional, criticism off.
The living room chart is also where remotes, blankets, and backpacks go to hide. Give each a home that a six-year-old can hit.
Nightly reset
Weekly: vacuum or robot empty, dust the coffee table, recycle the mail pile.
- Toys to bins
- Blankets folded
- Remotes in caddy
- Shoes back to the entry
- Crumbs swept if dinner happened on the couch (it did)
Questions parents ask
- What if the living room is also the playroom?
- Two bins and a timer still work. A chart cannot create a separate playroom you do not have.
