Yard & outdoor
Outdoor chore chart
Outdoor jobs are excellent for kids who melt indoors. They are also where safety gets skipped because “it’s just the yard.” Write the rules: street, chemicals, mowers, dogs.
A summer chart should look different from a January chart. Print seasonally. Our summer template is a starting point.
A reasonable outdoor list
Pet waste is a real job. Gloves, bags, hands washed. Do not assign it as revenge.
- Toy and stick pickup
- Water plants
- Bring trash cans in
- Dog walk with a route
- Car trash
- Mow only with training and gear
Questions parents ask
- What age can kids mow?
- Skill and the machine matter more than a birthday. Many families wait for 13+ and still stand outside for the first month.
